Recommend new coolant reservoir and cap Pressure test system Radiator leaking from top tank under top hose. Recommend replacing radiator. Connect test equipment P0172 System too rich bank 1 P0175 System too rich bank 2 P1258 Engine coolant over temperature – protection mode active Confirmed cooling fans turn on Change oil light on
  • Partially disassemble front bumper Found upper hose glued to radiator. Recommend replacing upper hose. Customer approves. Drain coolant/antifreeze Cut off upper hose and remove hose and radiator. Install new radiator. Install new upper radiator hose
  • Purged cooling system of air Verify thermostat opens Verify coolant fan operates (if applicable) Confirm no leaks Clear codes Test drive. Right reverse light is out Right brake light is dim Turn signal for left turn signal does not stay engaged
  • Remove reserve tank. Install new reserve tank. Fill cooling system with fresh coolant/antifreeze New tank comes with sensor. Does not connect to anything on this model Pontiac.

  • Dark residue on exhaust is unburnt fuel. Checked spark plugs and they are worn. Recommend replacing spark plugs. Customer approves. Negative mileage blinking shows miles since last oil change. See above oil change recommendation. Headlights working correctly at this time.
  • Drain coolant. Remove block heater. Clean surfaces. Install new block heater. Refill with coolant. Run engine and check for leaks. No leaks at this time. Test. Works correctly.
  • Drain transmission fluid. Clean surfaces. Refill transmission to correct level. Test drive.
  • No check engine light on. No current codes. Maintenance light on. 5487 miles over for oil change. Checked oil condition. Very dark. Recommend oil change. Customer approves. Transmission is full. Brown to light brown. Transmission fluid leaking from vent tube from overfilling. Recommend transmission fluid service. Customer approves. Oil pressure sending unit is leaking oil. Recommend replacing sending unit. Customer approves. Block heater leaking. Recommend replacing. Customer approves. Ticking noise sounds like valves. Recommend oil change and rechecking.
  • Noise not heard at this time. Will recheck in morning. Rechecked and cannot duplicate the noise when reversing.
  • Remove oil pressure switch. Clean surfaces. Install new switch. Inspect for leaks. No leaks. Test switch. Works correctly.
  • Removed old spark plugs. Clean surfaces. Install new spark plugs. Test drive.

  • Found problem in the feed line hose to the nozzles; replaced section of hose.

  • Inspected engine, checked all fluids. There was no coolant in the reservoir at this time. There was evidence that an LOF was performed recently due to the wet area on the OE filter drip tray. Performed a combustion gas test and the vehicle failed. Stopped any further work a this time and notified the owner. Owner approved the Head Gasket replacement and capped off any further work at $2,000
  • Found one of the heads to be cracked. The seats in the heads are known to come loose the heads need to be replaced.
